3A DEFENSE CHALLENGE SCHEDULE

Friday, September 12

• 5:00 PM - Tiger Cubs
• 6:30 PM - Ages 12 & Older (All Ranks)

Saturday, September 13

• 9:00 AM - Ages 10 & 11 (All Ranks)
• 10:30 AM - Ages 8 & 9 (All Ranks)
• 12:00 PM - Ages 6 & 7 (All Ranks) (including Cub Graduates)

In each age division, participants will be further grouped into smaller competition brackets based on factors such as age, size, and rank.

Uniform & Equipment:

• Black "Performance" Shirt (Jacket not worn)
• Black TR Pants
• Belt
• Mat Shoes or Grip Socks
• Elbow Pads and Bag Gloves optional (not worn by Cubs)

Held here at Tiger-Rock Metairie

Spectators:

Spectators will be allowed inside for the event. It will be also be broadcast on Zoom.

What is the 3A Defense Challenge?

Our 3A Defense Challenge is a unique competition where the students race against the clock. Our defense system allows the student to execute takedowns, self defense behaviors, breaking, and basic ground reversal and survival skills in a non-combative environment. Students compete for medals in this timed event.

"3A" stands for our 3 levels of threat awareness: Green, Yellow and Red.

Medals & Awards

Every participant in the 3A Defense Challenge earns a medal based on their performance time.

The fastest student in each bracket will take home the Green Medal—a recognition of top speed and execution.

The remaining participants are divided into two achievement tiers based on their completion time:

• Tier 1 earns the Yellow Medal, celebrating strong performance.
  
  
• Tier 2 earns the Red Medal, marking their accomplishment in completing the course.

Scorecard Points:

• 5 Points for Participation
• 3 Extra Points for 1st Place (Green Medal)
• 2 Extra Points for 1st Tier (Yellow Medal)
• 1 Extra Point for 2nd Tier (Red Medal)
